UFC News Roundup

  • Former UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva has been suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for taking multiple banned substances. He will be eligible to return to action on February 1, 2016. His unanimous decision victory over Nick Diaz at UFC 183 has been overturned and ruled a “no contest.” The source of metabolites of banned substances allegedly came from the use of a sexual enhancement from Thailand.

  • Cris “Cyborg” Justino and “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey have been going at it hard, verbally, in recent weeks and the animosity just keeps on heating up. Cyborg, who is not under contract with the UFC, is the last remaining big-named female fighter yet to put Ronda Rousey to the test. Speaking of tests, the Invicta FC Featherweight champ recently came up clean in a drug test conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, dowsing any issues Rousey may have claimed she had regarding Cris’ past drug use. Cyborg failed a post-fight drug test in 2011 after coming off a 16-second victory over her opponent. There has been several exchanges between both fighters in interviews and on social media, which has added fuel to the fire of anticipation for a potential superfight between both athletes.

  • One of the most highly anticipated UFC events of the year just got even bigger. UFC 194, that takes place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on December 12th of this year, will be an epic event. Headlining the pay-per-view event will be the Feather weight title fight between Jose “Junior” Aldo and “The Notorious” Conor McGregor. The UFC just announced that TWO titles will be on the line during the event. A middleweight title fight between Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold will be co-headliners at UFC 194.
