UFC 191: The Mouse vs. The Magician [PART II]

Mixed martial arts fans worldwide will be treated to yet another UFC pay-per-view event this September 5th. Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and John “The Magician” Dodson will be headlining the event with what is expected to be an exciting Flyweight title bout. At just five feet and three inches, these fighters may be small, but they sure pack a big punch as far as fast-paced MMA action is concerned.

This is a rematch between both fighters. They locked horns two years ago with Johnson retaining the title via decision at the end of five rounds. To date, the Magician has arguably posed the biggest challenge to Mighty Mouse’s reign over the division. He rocked Johnson in the early rounds and even dropped him to the mat, twice, with some solid striking. DJ weathered the storm and pounded away at a clearly tiring Dodson in the championship rounds.

Since the loss, Dodson has gone undefeated, convincingly dominating all of his opponents and has worked his way back into title contention status. He has improved his game, but then again so has Johnson. He not skipped a beat since their last encounter and has looked great. This will be Johnson’s seventh title defense and it will be up to Dodson to bring something new to the table in order to change the outcome this time around.

Aside from the main event, there are a couple of noteworthy fights on the card as well. Heavyweight veterans Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir will clash as they are both riding respective waves of recently found momentum en route to what could be a shot at the title. Number one ranked Light Heavyweight Anthony “Rumble” Johnson will take on seventh ranked Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa, with Rumble trying to get back on track for another crack at Light Heavyweight gold.
