Experience the power of the north sea at oostende beach

Ostend (Dutch pronunciation: Oostende) Beach located in the province of West Flanders, Belgium has a strategic position on the North Sea that offers both major advantages for the city as a harbor (fishing and trade), and as a source of trouble (vikings and other conquering armies).

After the 18th century, Ostend was turned into a harbor of some importance when the Dutch, in 1722, closed off the entrance to the world’s biggest harbor of Antwerp, the Westerschelde. Ostend thus rose in importance when the town provided an alternative exit to the North sea.

At present, the beach is known for its sea-side esplanade, Royal Galleries, promenade pier, and fine-sand beaches. Here, a couple of preschoolers take a day trip enjoying the sand at Ostend. #LayasPaula #Belgium #Ostende 🇧🇪

Modernization of Immigration Services to Boost PH Tourism

A Filipino child joining the Ati-Atihan festival, just one of the many festivals celebrated in the Philippines.

The JFC (Joint Foreign Chamber of the Philippines) supports government efforts to modernize immigration services through the proposed Philippine Immigration Act and other ongoing reforms. The objective of the bill is to make immigration services more enabling to promote tourism and commerce. The JFC believes that these efforts will help make the Philippine tourism stay long and retirement industries more competitive with the rest of its ASEAN neighbors while helping the country grow twice as fast.

As international traffic continues to grow, especially with implementation of the liberal air access policy, any shortage of personnel relative to the growth of passenger traffic should be addressed with an increase in the workforce at the expense of the national government.

Prancing about Greenbelt, Makati

I have come to really like my afternoon runs/walks. I usually just loiter about Makati in my sweats with camera in tow.

This afternoon, I changed my route. I was getting tired of the park so I tried going where the people were: the mall. (evil snicker)

Aside from the health is wealth clichĂ© when it comes to running,  another reason why I run is so that I have reason to take a shower. Otherwise, I would be in my pj’s all day. (But that’s between you and me ok? Promise? Good.)

The thing with my out-and-about’s is that the pollution is terrible. I don’t mind the humidity, noise or the smell — its the pollution that’s gonna kill me in this fabulous city.

Well, you can’t have it all.

Anyway, when I got to Greenbelt, I saw a country singer, horses and rabbit tourists.

Don’t believe me? Check out what my camera caught.

Country singer in the house! Not. But you've gotta give him credit for being so brave flying solo, literally!

Where can I get my own pony?

Told you there were bunny tourists!Since they blocked my view, I am dubbing them Mr. and Ms. Bunny-Wabbit. Rise a Knight, Bunny Wabbit...

A little down-time for me: with my juice and what was left of my chicken sandwich. ...and of course, a little bit of writing...
